California Partnership for Math + Science Education (CAPMSE)
Promoting Equity and Excellence
Our mission and purpose
The California Partnership for Math and Science Education (the Partnership) is a coalition of education, policy and advocacy organizations that uses the communities of practice model to advance access to meaningful mathematics and science teaching and learning statewide. The Partnership's two statewide communities have been meeting regularly since 2015, driven by the purpose of ensuring high-quality standards-based math and science instruction to advance equitable outcomes for all California students.

"It’s great to pass policy; but if you don’t change practice, the policy doesn’t matter. The Partnership for Math and Science Education is part of a larger statewide system of support to build the capacity of teachers and leaders at the school, district, and county levels and to increase instructional capacity regionally across our state. By collaborating with multiple organizations across California, the communities of practice model offers quality educator professional development and ultimately has a positive impact on students in the classroom."
— DR. ILENE STRAUS, EDUCATOR AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.
